When people tell unattractive people to just be confident or don't worry about your looks it just comes off as super arrogant and unaware of their. You're dismissing a huge problem with a "solution that doesn't work because it's people have a hard time admitting privilege. Also, confidence isn't a real thing its just a byproduct of good things happening to you.
True but being confident kind of frauds being attractive because everyone's subconscious association is that: confidence=good brain chemistry=good development=attractiveness, so its not completely useless advice. Ofc its incredibly hard to pull off, especially if nd, and can easily look forced/autistic.
In a sense but when people are talking about confidence it's mainly the halo effect like being tall having good posture is being confident and being unconfident would be being short and other bad features. Like i mentioned before its confidence isn't just something u can build out of thin air. Its the results of success over and over again just like being confident in everything else in life.
Very true, I mean you could extend this to personality in general. Your entire personality is based off your past experiences which are based off your looks, so in reality your personality entirely is just a reflection of your looks. If you look at studies, attractive people have much better personalities even with the halo effect accounted for. It absolutely brutal how being unattractive adds a m…
