Dimorphism

How masculine or feminine each region reads, and why it is scored separately from harmony.

Sexual dimorphism is how strongly the face carries the traits typical of its sex: for men, the markers of testosterone exposure (a heavy brow ridge, a broad jaw, a prominent nose); for women, the markers of oestrogen (a smooth brow, a tapered jaw, full lips, large eyes). Each region is rated against the ideal for your gender, so the same jaw can score very differently on a male and a female analysis.

How it is scored

Every region is rated 0–10 on a morph that runs from strongly opposite-sex-typical to strongly same-sex-typical. The ideal is the top of the scale (a rating of roughly 9.75 or above deducts nothing); anything below deducts from the pillar according to how far it falls and how much that region matters.

  • Bone structure carries the most weight. Jaw and brow ridge can each deduct up to 20% of the pillar, face shape up to 15%.
  • Nose and lips up to 10% each; eyes and neck up to 8%.
  • Hair traits weigh the least. Hairline up to 6%, facial hair and eyebrow thickness up to 4%, hair length up to 2%. They are the easiest to change, so they are deliberately kept from dominating the score.

Deductions inside a category saturate rather than add, so two weak bone-structure traits cost less than double one. The remaining points are mapped onto the 0–10 scale you see.

Why gender matters here

Dimorphism is the only pillar where the ideal flips. The male morph for the jaw runs from narrow to wide and rates wide as 10; the female morph runs from wide to tapered and rates tapered as 10. That is why your analysis asks for gender before it runs, and why changing it later re-scores this pillar completely.
