The zygomatic arch is the bony structure that creates cheekbone definition. Prominence refers to how far this bone projects outward from the face, creating the contours that catch light and cast shadows.

Cheekbone prominence is one of the most influential features for facial attractiveness. Prominent cheekbones create three-dimensionality and contribute to a prominent bone structure. The lateral and forward projections of the zygomatic bone are what create the structured, sculpted look often seen in models. Key Distinction
Don't confuse height with prominence. Height refers to where the cheekbones sit on your face (high vs low). Prominence refers to how far they project outward/forward. You can have high-set cheekbones that are flat, or low-set cheekbones that are prominent.
