Brow Bossing Angle
The angle from vertical at the nasal root to the brow prominence.
What is measured
The calculation
Angle: vertical above nasion → nasion → glabella

Follow the measurement
Dots mark the landmarks. Lines show how the measurement is taken.
In these guides, nasion means the nasal root, subnasale the nose base, and pogonion the most forward chin point. Frankfort refers to the direction from the ear-opening landmark to the lower orbital landmark.
Why it matters
This describes the local brow-to-nasal-root relationship separately from the forehead’s full slope. The brow and the root jointly determine the measured prominence.
- Lower: the brow direction is closer to vertical above the nasal root.
- Higher: it diverges farther from that vertical.
Where the idea comes from
FaceIQ adaptation
This is a FaceIQ photographic construction. Clinical profile analysis provides context, but the cited work does not validate this exact landmark formula or its scoring range. [1]
A worked example
A 6-unit horizontal difference over a 20-unit vertical difference gives an angle of about 16.7°.
Example values explain the calculation. They are not a target range and are not measurements of the schematic above.
