The angle at the nasal root where the forehead meets the upper nose.

In these guides, nasion means the nasal root, subnasale the nose base, and pogonion the most forward chin point. Frankfort refers to the direction from the ear-opening landmark to the lower orbital landmark.

Why it matters

The brow-to-nose transition influences how deep the nasal root looks. Both brow prominence and nose-bridge direction change the angle.

  • Lower: a more closed angle at the nasal root.
  • Higher: a more open transition from brow to nose.

Where the idea comes from

Clinical reference

Nasal angles and projection are used to describe profile shape. Preference studies have tested edited noses; FaceIQ’s particular landmarks and score ranges should not be treated as universal conclusions from those studies. [1]

A worked example

An angle of 120° is more closed than 140°. These are illustrative angles, not a prescription for a particular face.
