Eye Protrusion
The horizontal position of the corneal apex relative to the lower-eyelid landmark.
What is measured
The calculation
(Corneal-apex x − lower-eyelid x) × photo scale

In these guides, nasion means the nasal root, subnasale the nose base, and pogonion the most forward chin point. Frankfort refers to the direction from the ear-opening landmark to the lower orbital landmark.
Why it matters
This compares the eye surface with the nearby eyelid contour. It is distinct from Orbital Vector, which uses the lower orbital reference rather than the lower eyelid.
- Negative: the eye front lies behind the lower-eyelid reference.
- Positive: the eye front lies ahead of the lower-eyelid reference.
Where the idea comes from
FaceIQ adaptation
This is a FaceIQ photographic construction. Clinical profile analysis provides context, but the cited work does not validate this exact landmark formula or its scoring range. [1]
A worked example
An eye front 5 units ahead of the eyelid reference at 0.2 estimated mm per unit gives +1 mm.
Example values explain the calculation. They are not a target range and are not measurements of the schematic above.
