The angle at the nose tip between the nasal-root line and the chin line.

In these guides, nasion means the nasal root, subnasale the nose base, and pogonion the most forward chin point. Frankfort refers to the direction from the ear-opening landmark to the lower orbital landmark.

Why it matters

It relates the nose and chin directly. This can explain why changing chin projection alters profile balance even though the nose itself is unchanged.

  • Lower: a more closed root–tip–chin angle.
  • Higher: a more open relationship at the tip.

Where the idea comes from

Clinical reference

Nasal angles and projection are used to describe profile shape. Preference studies have tested edited noses; FaceIQ’s particular landmarks and score ranges should not be treated as universal conclusions from those studies. [1]

A worked example

Two profiles may share the same nose, but a different chin point can give 125° in one and 135° in the other.
