In these guides, nasion means the nasal root, subnasale the nose base, and pogonion the most forward chin point. Frankfort refers to the direction from the ear-opening landmark to the lower orbital landmark.

Why it matters

This compares the nose’s horizontal reach with a vertical eye-to-tip reference. It differs from the frontal nasal width and from the constructed length used for Nasal Projection.

  • Lower: less horizontal reach relative to eye-to-tip height.
  • Higher: more horizontal reach relative to that height.
