Why it matters

The visible lid between the lashes and crease shapes the eye’s appearance independently of the eye opening. The denominator changes when the eye opens wider or squints.

  • Lower: less visible upper lid relative to the eye opening.
  • Higher: more visible upper lid relative to the eye opening.
